cupcake cards -- Friday, June 26th

Please join us for another fun and yummy cupcake card class this

Friday, June 26th, 10am-12pm and 6pm-8pm  Cost:  $35

Here's 4 of the 6 cards we'll be making.

Paper Garden Samples 018

This first card is made with just one cupcake stamp by Hero Arts.  I stamped it once and kept masking the bottom of the plate off so they would stack on top of each other.  The circular stamp says "it's your day" by Hero arts and it would certainly be anyone's day to get this mouthful of yummy sweets!

Paper Garden Samples 022

This next card is fun with all of the pink and brown colors.  The stamps are by A Muse and Stampendous.

Paper Garden Samples 025

These last two cards are my favorites because i've always liked mary englebreit with her fun colors.  So these are two mary knock offs!  i used the cherry stamp for the side panel by Kodomo and the cupcake stamp is by Karen Lockhart.  Cardstocks are by A Muse.

Paper Garden Samples 029

This last card is also a mary knock off!  So fun with the gingham and bright colors.  Stamps are by A Muse and Impression obsession.  We'll post the last two card later this week!

Asian card class

Here are the cards we recently made in our June Asian cardmaking class.

Paper Garden Samples 001

This first card is made with washi paper background.. i then took a bamboo stamp by judikins and stamped it all over the cream paper and vellum and hand tore the vellum.  I then took another judikins kimono stamps and embossed it in gold and cut it out.  The double happiness symbol is by kodomo inc.

Paper Garden Samples 004

This next card is made using a zigen stamp design by Kodomo.  I stamped it on cream paper and again on gold stardream and cut out the sand areas to give the card some dimension.

Paper Garden Samples 007

This card uses sukashi handmade papers from Japan.  I stamped a Japanese poem by Judikin on the front and also punched out two flowers.  The hot pink color makes the black pop!

Paper Garden Samples 009

This cherry blossom tree by Hero arts is so functional.  I punched out a fun square and stamped the edge of the blossom and randomly matched it up with the blossoms i already stamped on the bottom layer of white cardstock.

Paper Garden Samples 013

I love this baby.. it's sooo cute!  i saw a similary card on splitcoast stampers.  The baby is made using oval and circular punches.  The round asian ball stamp is by Hero.  It makes a fun background as well.

Paper Garden Samples 015

This last card is my favorite.  It would make a wonderful invitation!  I stamped a Kimono background by Judikins for the top part of the card and embossed it in black diamond by judikins.  i then used this cool tapestry ribbon we have from france to make a border for the cranes.  i embossed the cranes in pastel embossing powder.  The card will fit into a #10 envelope.

Make and Take -- Furlough Friday

Come join us this Friday, from 11:30-1:30pm and make this fun 4th of July lifesaver sparkler.

Paper Garden Samples 024

This sparker is made with the yellow marvy star punch and I used the red polka dot A Muse cardstock.  The ribbon is gold wire ribbon.  So fun to give the kids for the 4th of July!Paper Garden Samples 026

You could see that I used two different lifesavers.  The front one is from Trader Joe's and the back one is lifesavers.. both work just fun.  I used glue dots to secore the gold wire  ribbon.  Please come by this friday for some candy sparkler fun!

You're invited....

We had our first invitation class and here are some of the fun projects we did.

Paper Garden Samples 019

the first is a movie night invitation.  I attached two tickets to the outside of the popcorn box.  I just used white paper bags and the A Muse polka dot papers.  I then filled the bag with fun movie snacks like microwave popcorn, licorice and the matchbook includes the tickets.

Paper Garden Samples 025

The tickets were printed on the new A Muse gingham cardstock and I punched it out of the mint green scallop rectangle punch.

Paper Garden Samples 029

The next invite idea is a baby shower.  This is a pocket fold and it's held together by ribbon.  Just cut a sheet of 8.5 X 11 cardstock at 4.25 X 11 and score at 5.5 and 1.5 inches.

Paper Garden Samples 032

This invite is very fast, you can even write in the information.

Paper Garden Samples 035

This bridal shower invite is also a very fast way to put on a party.  Take an 8.5 X 11 sheet of cardstock cut it in half at 4.25 X 11 and score it at 5.5 inches.  Then using your paper cutter cut both pieces angle to angle at the score line.  Double stick tape the two pieces together and at the bottom of the cardstock I cut a piece of foam tape and cut it once again in half to close the two triangles.

Paper Garden Samples 038

This last invitation is made with the mint green scallop square punch.  i punched it twice and cut a piece of cream cardstock at 2.25" X 11" and scored at 2.25" to make perfect squares.

Paper Garden Samples 035

The cupcake tier is by Impress rubber stamps... i used brown liquid applique to get that glazey chocolate ganache look.

Paper Garden Samples 037

I masked off the A Muse Date, time, place, and RSVP and used tiny little party icon stamps on the bottom.

Paper Garden Samples 033

I used the pink Marvy flower punch to make these paper clips.  I used a pop dot to raise the center which is the yellow scallop circle punch.

Paper Garden Samples 027

I then used a copic markers to make a polka dot background.  Stamps are by A Muse.

Paper Garden Samples 026

Ken's cards

Paper Garden Samples 003

My husband has a weakness for coffee and love it.  He loves Starbucks and luckily there's one just a 5 doors down from our boutique!  This is a gift card holder when you open it.

Paper Garden Samples 004

This next card is a fun animal card made with punches.

Paper Garden Samples 017

It's a fast card that will fit into an a2 envelope.  It would be so cute to make an invite with this as well!

Paper Garden Samples 009

This next card is a fun pop up card.

Paper Garden Samples 012

When you open it up you can see all of the spring action!  Ken used a circle punch and cut in a spiral to make a coil-ing affect to get all of the bees to pop up.  Pretty cool!

Paper Garden Samples 021

This last card is a frame look.  Ken thought it would be a good idea to make a father's day card.. so it's only fitting we put Miles in the pix too!  Take a peak in our Fall newsletter.. Ken will be teaching two more classes!

Last day of preschool!

Wednesday will mark the last day of preschool 3 for my son miles who will soon turn 4!  I am the room mother for his class and bring whatever make and take projects we do at the store into his class for their art projects... but i gear them towards the kiddies with fun  and youthful stamp images.

Anyway, i was inspired to put on a picnic using the new a muse papers inspired by Linda from A Muse-- check out her blogsite for more ideas... www.amusenews.typepad.com

Miles' teacher eagerly accepted.

Miles 4th Birthday 2009 117

I got some fun scented bubbles at the dollar store and wrapped them with the new gingham papers.

I then took water bottles and wrapped them and hooked on hawaiian punch mix.

The picnic also included a placemat (not shown) -- i just corner rounded the 8.5 X 11 cardstock to make a nice setting.

On to Miles' 4th birthday party with his classmates.  We had a fun train ride in Old Sacramento... with Miles' classmates and cousin... all 39 of us!

Miles 4th Birthday 2009 002

Paper Garden Samples 030

I got the binders at office depot for 1.99 and the clipboards.. 5 in a pack for 5.00 at sam's club.

Paper Garden Samples 058

i wanted to keep them for myself -- just to hoard!  hahahaha.

By the way.. our shopping center.. the town and country village mall will be having an art festival this weekend!  Come by for a fun make and take and also see all of our stamps that are only a buck and some 50-cents!  these are gently used stamps that we made our samples with.  these stamps are no longer carried by our boutique or they have been discontinued so i am putting them on sale.. there are hundreds!!
