Free make and take!

It's almost the end of October and that means, a free make and take!  On Friday, October 26th from 11:30am-1:30pm, come into the store and do something creative!  We just got some new maple punches in today, so i may be creating something fun with the new leaves, since autumn is almost here.  In the meantime, we are having an asian card making class in November and so far, I made two cards, here they are:

A1 This card will fit in a #10 envelope.  It's good for giving money or gift cards.  The stamps are from Kodomo inc.  The kanji japanese character is:  "Winter" and L stamped the Winter flowers all over the bottom of the card.  The stamps come in a set and they are so beautiful to work with.  The small blossom is a single blossom stamp, the set comes with 8 stamps and I love each one!

A2

This next card I stamped the Judikins bamboo stamp all over the green cardstock and from the Kodomo inc winter flower set I used the bulb flower and stamped the flower in dark peony and olive green color box chalks cat eye inks.  To embellish the card I used an asian coin.  So simple!

If you're interested in taking the east meets west class, it's on Friday November 9th from 12pm-2pm or 6pm-8pm.  The cost is:  $35.00  We'll make 6 cards.

Also, don't forget, we're having free make and takes every Saturday in November!  So fun!  Come in and let us get you inspired this holiday season!

Another class added

Hi!  We had so many people at our gifts and goodies class -- we added another one!  It will be on Sunday, Oct. 28th from 10-12pm.  Call the store at 916-487-2737 if you would like to take the class and make 6 wonderful cards, treat bags and gift card holder.  The cost is 35-dollars.  Below are several samples that I posted throughout last week.  Here is another card I recently made.

Card_4  The stamps are all from Impres rubber stamps. The sentiment is from A muse.  I just stamped the peony flower all over in blush rose ink by color box chalk,  then I used  pearlescent chalks by pebbles inc to color in the flower.  I stamped the birdy in black and colored the inside also with the chalks and tore a piece of cream paper and dipped the edges in dark brown color box chalk ink pads.  It's so easy and quick!  I love these stamps.. so elegant.  Enjoy.

Happy Monday!

Today, we got a lot of new goodies in the store.  We have all of the raindrops (adhesive epoxy stickers in all colors), new adhesive pearls, pretty adhesive gemstones, and a lot of holiday boutique gifts for your kids.  I just love picking out fun stuff for boys and girls since I have a two year old son.  I also got the new lucious pink/chocolate little giraffe blankets and blue/chocolate little giraffe blankets... so soft and cuddly.  They are simply the best!  These blankets are my son's fav.  Last week we got in all of the new Elzybells stamps and we have about 20 samples made from this new line that Linda Carnell from a muse art stamps is carrying. They are now the north american retailer for this cute line of stamps.  If you like to color, these stamps are for you.  Especially if you like to use the copic pens and the new glittery spica pens.  Come on in and check out all of our new sampes.  Here are some cards that I recently made!  Enjoy.

Card_1 This was a recent make and take.  It's called a piglet fold.  I took 4 pieces of  4 X 4 cardstock and scored them in half.  Then connected them to make a little boxed card.  I then cut out 4 squares of chocolate paper and stamped out the leaves in encore ink pads.  The leaves are from kodomo inc. and the punch is from marvy uchida.  The gemstone is from doodlebug designs, and the thank you stamp is from a muse.

Card_2    This next card is soooo easy.  It's the fourish stamp from Judikins. I love this stamp and it works great for wedding invites and bridal showers as well.  It's so beautiful and big.  It just takes one stamp.  I stamped it in paper salon lilac dye ink and then used crystal stickles glitter glue and some gemstones to embellish.  The bird is from impress rubber stamps and so is the thank you stamp.

Card_3

This next card is a pix of when my son was only 6 months old.  I used a hero arts flourish stamp and stamped it in a circular motion in colorbox chalk ice blue ink.  Then used waterfall and frosted lace glitter glue all over the card.  The sentiment is from a muse art stamps.  Miles' pix is all over my store.  He's definitely the store model!

Aloha!

On Sunday, we had a Hawaiian card class.  I love Hawaii.. I mean.. who doesn't, but I really love being on an Island.  My first job as a tv journalist was in Guam.  I spent 1.5 years there... and the best part of Guam was the beaches, snorkeling, and scuba diving.... I looked like a chocolate candy bar, I was so tan.  Now I'm a Marshmellow.  Oh well...

H1 This first card is board shorts.  I used a 4.25 X 4.25 piece of white cardstock and stamped judikins block stamp of hawaiian flowers and leaf all over.  Then I used prisma glitter just in the middle of each flower and leaf and ta-da.. this would make a very cute aloha invite.

H2 This next card is very tis the season with the surfing santa.

All of the stamps used are by A muse except for the Savvy stamps surf board and the Hawaiian Christmas palm tree (Memory box co stamps)

H3

I love the colors in this card. The ribbon (may arts) too makes the card look like the ocean.  The surf board is Savvy stamps, the Hibiscus is from Judikins, the leaf is a cool set from Kodomo Inc. and the aloha stamp is from A muse.

H5

This is aloha stamped from A muse art Alphabet stamps and the "L" is a oval punch and the flower is eksuccess.

H6

This is almost like the board shorts card, I just randomly stamped the flowers and leaf, the mahalo is from viva last vegas stamps.  I love that font.. it's soooooo aloha!

H4_2

What I really like about Hawaiian motif is the vintage Hawiian look.  I tried to make this as old as I could  I distress the corners with the Tim Holtz distresser, then stamped the flower (Impress rubber stamps) all over and the leaf (Kodomo inc) all over in colorbox lime pastel.  I then used a stippling brush and used burnt sienna and stippled all over the card to make it look old.  I took some origami paper and folded it into a Hawwian shirt and taped it onto some sparkling ribbon!  The aloha stamp is from American Art stamps.  I'll post more cards tomorrow..I'm beat..it's almost 3am!!!  My husband took pictures of a lot of cards, so I will post more on Monday.  Good night!

Another fun project!

Hi!  This weekend we had two fun classes!  We had our gifts and goodies class and I have another idea to show you.  The class was overbooked!  I usually only allow 12 people max in a class and somehow booked like... 17?  We looked like sardines around my counter.  How embarrassing,  but I think everyone had a good time.  Thank goodness my cousin Kelley volunteered to help me teach the class and cut out enough projects for everyone who came.. whew!!  We are having the class repeated on Saturday, October 27th.  Anyway, here's another gifty idea we did.

Gifts_1 This is a box made from an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper.  It's just a bunch of scoring.. it's really easy to make.  The stamps are from A muse art stamps.  If you fill them with candy canes, it's a very nice gift to give to friends and they also make great teacher gifts!

Holiday gifts and goodies

We have a class this Friday making little hostess gifts and stationery.  We will make six items but I only have pictures for 3.  I will try and get the other three uploaded because they are sooooooo cute!

Gifts_1 This is a monogram stationery set.  It's used with the letter set from a muse and the flourish stamp by Judikins.  It's really easy to make.  I just stamped the flourish in versafine black onyx and tied a know using may arts black/white striped ribbon.

To punch out the "s" I used the scalloped 1.5" circle punch with the 1.25" ek sucess circle punch and tacked it down with 3m tape.

They make nice stationery gifts to give to friends and family.  If you pkg it using nice clear bags and use ribbon to close it up, you too can be martha stewart!

Gifts_2

This is another creation using our die cutting system.  All you do is roll out an 8.5 X 11 sheet of cardstock and it will turn into a pillow box.. all of the edges are perforated so you know where to fold!  So easy for a quick gift.  I used a sheer gold ribbon and punched out a tag with the marvy clever lever punch and a scalloped 1.5" circle (As you can tell, I love this size punch) and stamped a small christmas tree on the front.

All stamps are a muse art stamps.

Gifts_3 These are the mini calendars that arrived!  To make this:  take an 8.5 X 11 piece of cardstock and cut it in half at 4.25 X 11 score it in half at 5.5"-- and score each bottom flap at 1".  double stick tape the 1" ends and you'll get a tent card.

I then took a border of dark brown card stock and distressed the ends of the white paper and dipped it in dark brown colorbox chalk ink.  I stamped a flourish stamp all over and punched out a 1.25" circle for the bird and rolled it in french blue color box chalk ink.  The calendar is punched to fit into the white cardstock.  I used the giga scalloped square punch and only punched out 1/4 of the square so my calendar would fit inside.  Stamps used:  Hero arts flourish stamp and b-line designs bird.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  I uploaded more than 12 cards in one night.. it's a record breaker!!!  Enjoy!

More cards!!

I'm on a roll now!!  I'm finally posting some card ideas.. I know I'm lame and getting this blog thing all worked out--- late.. but better late than never.  It's been busy at our home!  I'm working and running around with my head cut off (as usual), Ken is working and working at the store-- and our 2 year old son Miles caught a bad cold!  I think I'm catching it too.. so I'm drinking my Teavana at night...I'm hooked on that tea store.  I am also down to 5 red bulls a week vs. 7 red bulls.  I don't like coffee..it makes me jittery, but red bull... man.. that stuff works!!!!  I never drank an ounce of coffee when I was a tv reporter.. I never even really ate fast food.. now I'm the Queen of both.. go figure.   By the way, my hubby took all of the pix.. if it was up to me to do this.. you would just get an online diary of me yakking away.. cause I am no photographer.. it would basically look like a piece of scary art.   Anyway.. here's a few more card creations.

Card_1 Quartro leaf set by Hero Arts, Prisma glitter/quickie glue pen, and Impress rubber stamps happy fall word (yes, we carry the entire line of impress rubber stamps!!!)

Card_2 This is a fun monkey card.  Sock monkey stamp by:  Paper candy.

Card_3 This is from our aloha card class.  Flower stamp by savvy stamps, aloha stamp by A muse art stamps.

Card_5_2 This is one of my favorite cards!  Flowers stamps are by:

Memory box co, rubber soul,

word stamp by A muse art stamps.  Gemstones by doodlebug.  I used Tim Holtz distresser to tear the paper on the edges and took a stippling brush and tapped it in colorbox chalk burnt sienna and dipped the four corners of the paper in colorbox chalk dark brown ink.  I used versafine sepia to stamp the flowers out and punched out two flowers and one small circle in scrapbook paper to make the center.  It's a fun card to make.  Oh yeah.. whenever you see me coloring in the flowers or any image.  90% of the time I use copic markers.  We carry the entire copic ciao line and once you use these alcohol based pens.. you never go back to using other pens.. this is another Linda Carnell of A muse art stamps favorite things.  I told her.. she's like Oprah Winfrey.. when Linda says.. she likes this.. everyone and their mother likes it.. including me!!!  She has this power over cardmakers... I tell ya!

Card_4_2

I love dragonflies and this card was created for a dragonfly  class.  Flourish by Judikins, Word stamp by A muse, dragonfly by outlines rubber stamps.

Card_6 This is one of my favorites.  I just created it on Saturday and I have a lot of other cards still to come for my East meets West cardmaking class this weekend!  Anyway.. the stamps used are by Impress and savvy stamps.  I used prisma glitter and the new stickles glitter glue color "cotton candy".. have you tried the new colors?  There's burgandy, baby blue, cotton candy, and asphalt.. love them all!!!

Invitation ideas

Here's a few handmade invitation ideas.  The first is a daisy card --great for a bridal shower.  I used the Whale of a punch oval by eksuccess and made a daisy and you can turn the petals.. they say.. "he loves me, he loves me not."  I cut an 8.5 X 11 peach cardstock in half (4.25 X 11) and scored it in half and then scored it again at 1.5" to make a pocket fold...the fold is made by a scalloped edge punch (if you get the eksuccess corner adorner, you can use it as a scalloped edge punch too--A muse art stamps owner Linda Carnell taught me this trick when she came to visit our store during Amuseapalooza!)

Invite_1 The stamps used are:  Hero arts daisy, self adhesive gemstones in clear and A shower stamp by a muse art stamps.  Ink colors are Versafine onyx and Paper Salon Petal Pink.

These next two invitations are great..they are circular invitations and really easy to make with our die cut machine.  If customers buy their paper at our boutique, we let them use our Accucut die cutting system for free.  I rolled out our 4.5" circle and rolled out our scalloped edge circle and used the clever lever marvy 1.5" scalloped circle punch for the window--  each time you turn the invite it tells you details of the who, what, where and place the shower or party will be.  You can nestle them together by using a brad.  It's a fun invitation and so easy to make!Invite_2

Stamps used here:

Amuse art stamps:  Bride/Groom, Bouquet, That's amore and smooches word stamps, and cake image

Savvy stamps:  Church

Memory box co:  Best Wishes

Invite_3

Stamps used:

Boy oh boy, carriage, it's the little things that matter most, oh baby, and wagon by A muse art stamps

Little baby -- savvy stamps

Hippo -- Memory box co

This next simple invite is also used with our die cut machine.  It's an apron and I used red to make it look more like a

b-b-q invite.Invite_6  The die cut makes the image look like this and I just cut out dark brown paper to make a border for the invite and bbq tools.

Stamps by Amuse art stamps

This next simple invite is also done by using liquid applique and I used diamond stickles glitter glue to make the sparkling frosting.  I used "The Notch" by Basic Grey to make the halfmoon card to open and close.

Invite_4 Stamps used:  Amuse art stamps and Karen Lockhart.

More cards and invitation ideas!

Cupcake_pix Hi!  Here's a few cards that i made.  The first is using liquid applique.  You have to use a heat gun to make the frosting fluffy, but i use white liquid applique for snow, animal images and flowers.  The ideas are endless.  We have all of the colors in stock and it's become one of my favorite embellishments!

I'm Back!

Card_4 Card_1_2 Card_2 Card_3 Card_5 Card_6_2 Card_7 Card_8 Hi everyone.. I'm so sorry it's taken such a long time to get my blog life in order.  I've been so busy at the store just trying to get all of our holiday inventory stocked up and gearing up for classes and making lots of cool samples.  Here are some cards I did for a halloween make and take as well as an asian card class.  In each class we make 6 cards.  Here's a few samples.  Don't forget, this Saturday is a free make and take between 11:30am and 1:30pm--- we'll be creating something for fall.  I'll try and post a picture before Saturday if I can get my life in order!  Thanks for being so patient... hopefully I can successfully upload the pictures.
