On Sunday, we had a Hawaiian card class. I love Hawaii.. I mean.. who doesn't, but I really love being on an Island. My first job as a tv journalist was in Guam. I spent 1.5 years there... and the best part of Guam was the beaches, snorkeling, and scuba diving.... I looked like a chocolate candy bar, I was so tan. Now I'm a Marshmellow. Oh well...
This first card is board shorts. I used a 4.25 X 4.25 piece of white cardstock and stamped judikins block stamp of hawaiian flowers and leaf all over. Then I used prisma glitter just in the middle of each flower and leaf and ta-da.. this would make a very cute aloha invite.
This next card is very tis the season with the surfing santa.
All of the stamps used are by A muse except for the Savvy stamps surf board and the Hawaiian Christmas palm tree (Memory box co stamps)
I love the colors in this card. The ribbon (may arts) too makes the card look like the ocean. The surf board is Savvy stamps, the Hibiscus is from Judikins, the leaf is a cool set from Kodomo Inc. and the aloha stamp is from A muse.
This is aloha stamped from A muse art Alphabet stamps and the "L" is a oval punch and the flower is eksuccess.
This is almost like the board shorts card, I just randomly stamped the flowers and leaf, the mahalo is from viva last vegas stamps. I love that font.. it's soooooo aloha!
What I really like about Hawaiian motif is the vintage Hawiian look. I tried to make this as old as I could I distress the corners with the Tim Holtz distresser, then stamped the flower (Impress rubber stamps) all over and the leaf (Kodomo inc) all over in colorbox lime pastel. I then used a stippling brush and used burnt sienna and stippled all over the card to make it look old. I took some origami paper and folded it into a Hawwian shirt and taped it onto some sparkling ribbon! The aloha stamp is from American Art stamps. I'll post more cards tomorrow..I'm beat..it's almost 3am!!! My husband took pictures of a lot of cards, so I will post more on Monday. Good night!
The blog looks great! and the cards are as beautiful as ever! I have done my first book at home and it turned out very nice; but wasn't as fun as doing it in your class :o) Have a great day, Shann @}---
