We have a free make and take this Friday, November 30th. It will from 11:30am-1:30pm. We'll be making bookmarks on Friday and on Saturday, December 1st, we'll be making hot cocoa packets--not only will you go home with a handmade cocoa holder, but you'll go home with a hot cocoa packet and a chocolate covered candycane stir stick. I made samples last night at the store and have yet to take pictures of the fab items. I will try and get my hubby to take pix. Don't forget the store has holiday hours until Christmas Eve. We're open from 10am-8pm Monday-Saturday and on Sunday's from 10am-6pm. We will also have hard copies of our new class schedule available at the store on Friday or by downloading them at our website at: www.papergardenboutique.com
We have three asian card classes beginning in January. Here's a card we did in our November class. It's a geisha set from Kodomo inc rubber stamps. It looks like a difficult card to make but it's not. I just stamped the woman in black and colored her with copic pens and used a stippling brush with "burnt sienna" color box chalk inks and stippled all over the card. It made a nice ancient look. The stamp set also comes with a cherry blossom twig and I stamped it randomly all over the card
The bamboo boxes were stamped in color box chalk yellow ochre and the Kanji sentiment is by Judikins. It's a famouse Japanese poem.... that's all i know!
Here's one last card I have for today, it's a fun snoopy card. I got the snoopy from a post-it note a customer wrote to me with. I thought.. wow.. that snoopy is small enough to fit onto a cute card, so I save it and cut it out and made a template out of it. I then took two pieces of red cardstock and made two boxy shapes and then outlined the house with a stitch-look in a black pen. I then used the sentiment by a muse "relax it's your day" and punched it out with the blue oval scallop by marvy. I also gave snoopy a nice bright black nose by using the self adhesive gemstones by doodlebug-- Good grief!
