Just a reminder.. we have a make and take this Friday. We will make the reese's treat! I have the post and pix below. Please join us between 11:30 am-1:30 pm this Friday for the make and take and receive 10% off your entire purchase!
Here's a look at the cards Ken made for his third cardmaking class.. again.. thank you to everyone who came to his classes! He had a blast. This first card is a Kimono card-- originally made by his cousin Tricia who worked with us at the store for a short time. Ken took an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper and drew this kimono out and stamped it with a cherry blossom stamp by Hanko. The card opens up and can be used for a nice invitation or fancy greeting.
This next idea is using small strips of orange cardstock (8.5 x .5) and pieceing them together to make a pumpkin! Stamp sentiments are so fitting for this as we put candy corn inside! It's a bit difficult to see but there are a couple of scalloped circles at the bottom, one on the inside and the other on the outside, which keep the pumpkin from rolling over...again...it's all about the little details. :)
This next favor is a gold box scored using a scor-pal. You can make two of these with one sheet of 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper. Ken used a skull and crossbones on the front and inside stamped a treasure chest by A Muse
and sentiment by the cat's pajama's. When you lift up the top layer.. there's a
treasure filled with gold foiled reese's! You'll also notice the notches made with a 5/8 circle punch...this allows for the ease of opening the treasure chest as well as access to the treasure in the box.
This next card can be an invitation or bookmark. We found it on splitcoast stampers and did our own dimensions bigger in case we wanted to make this into an invite. The stamp is made by judikins and Ken emossed it. Very much into subtle details, Ken coordinated the black pattern on black paper as well as the deep red ribbon with a hint of black woven into the material finishing off this project with nuances many overlook. The black and red combination with this particular pattern is a nice masculine contrast to the blue kimono above.
In case you didn't know...Ken loves an ice cream cone! You never know where he's going to get his inspiration and this fun card must have been inspirded by one of our many trips to Fresh Choice...he always leaves room for an ice cream cone! Wouldn't this be a fun invitation to an ice cream party?
We embellished the cone and top with glitter glue. You can even score the cone with the scor-pal. For those of you who remember "way back when"...put the name of your child, spouse or friend on the cone and personalize it! Don't forget...you can even top it off with your favorite toppings of choice!
Once you open it up.
It says.. you make life sweet! Sentiment is by A Muse.
