Make and Take -- Friday!

Please join us as we celebrate black Friday and a fun make and take!  My husband Ken designed the top of this triangle box (bottom right corner).  We got the triangle box template from A Muse art stamps,

This fun box is designed with Ken's favorites -- punches and we filled it with m & m's!

If you want to do another fun make and take...this Saturday, November 26th, we'll be making this fun candy cane box designed by A Muse.  Please come by and do this make and take during regular store hours.  So fun!

 

We'll be open Monday-Saturday -- 10am-8pm and on Sunday from 10am-6pm until Christmas eve!  Make something special for your friends and family this holiday season.  Here's a make and take we did last Saturday.. it's a hershey bar wrapped in a santa suit.  Too Cute!!!

  

The sentiment is by A Muse and we used the yellow scallop rectangle punch.  Here's how i got the silver belt.

 

I got the belt by first punching the yellow square onto the silver paper and then centering the blue square punch.. and wallah!  You got a nice square frame!

 Here's a picture that my husband's cousin Joe Chan took earlier this month.  Now, I have to figure out my Holiday picture card... oh dear.. pressure!

Ken's holiday card class

Here are a few of the projects that he created.  This is a fun bag.  We just scored a 4.25 X 4.25 square piece of cardstock into a box by using the scor-pal and wrapped A Muse paper and ribbon.

 

 This next card is a fun fishing card.  Ken made it look like you're in a submarine.  He punched out circles and acetate paper to make the window.  Sentiment by Impress,all other stamps by A Muse.

  

This next card is a fun elf on the rocket tree card gliding across the skyline.

When you pull the tab.. it says.. oh holy night and you can move the little elf.

This next card is a double pull out card.  All stamp are by Tinkering ink's new clear set.

When you pull the ribbon.. you will get not one, but two sentiments.  Wouldn't this also be a fun invitation?

 

When you pull the ribbon you can see the sentiment and three snowmen.  So fun!

  

This last creation is my favorite of Ken's.  It's a Santa treat box.  He cut a 2.75 X 8.5 sheet of cardstock to make three of these boxes.  Scored it and used punches.  So fun!  

 

 

Christmas in Asia

I am finally getting around to posting the cards we made for our Christmas in Asia class. 

So sorry it's been awhile... I'm always running around with my head cut off and today is no exception!

This first card is made with a "kissing" technique.  I used an oval background stamp by Rubber soul and kissed it with a bamboo stamp by hero arts.  Then stamped another bamboo stamp by judikins. Sentiment is by A Muse.

This next card is made with a cherry blossom flourish by hero arts for the circle.  The vertical stamp is by Judikins.. one of my favorite cherry blossom images and the sentiment and snowflake stamp is by A Muse.

This next card is made with stamps by hero arts and a new Kodomo snowflake stamp set.  I used a blue marvy snowflake punch and stamped warm wishes in the middle.  This next card is a gift card idea.

All I did was use the Ek success frame scalloped punch and used washi papers.

This last card was used using the chalk resist technique.  I stamped a large cherry blossom background stamp by Hanko and then stamped a floral vase on the front.  I then used a flower punch by ek sucess.  Ribbon by A Muse.

 

Christmas in Asia

We offer a different asian card class each month except for the winter time due to so many holiday classes...but this month.. is an exception.  We will have a Christmas in Asia class on

Saturday, November 22nd 6pm-8pm and Monday, November 24th 10am-12pm  Cost:  $35.00

Our Asian card making classes are the most popular of any class at the Paper Garden.. hmmmmmm... I wonder why.  Hahaha!

Here's the first card I made

 

I used the winter flower set by Kodomo.  Kodomo makes all 4 seasons.. and they really are a must have!!  I then used small snowflake punches to embellish the card.  Sentiment and ribbon by A Muse.  You can see the stardream paper on the cardstock I used.. it shimmers and it's so pretty!

More handmade gifts!

This next creation is a gift card holder.  You can put a starbucks card or java card in this one.  I used the A Muse coffee clear set and stamped a fun garland at the bottom.

 

This last item is a new baking set by A Muse.  I used A Muse polka dot pink paper and sandwiched in between the cardstock is a plain white bag.  I corner rounder the four sides and used a blue oval marvy punch.  The gift tag is the purple marvy snowflake punch.

Make and Take --Saturday

Every Saturday in November we'll have a fun winter make and take.  This is the new clear set of "cupcake" stamps by A Muse art stamps.  We'll make this fun card. 

note:  for the frosting... I used liquid pearls.  Linda from A Muse showed me that if you use a brush, you can brush it to make a different look and "LOOK" .. it looks like real frosting!  Good enough to eat.  I love it!!!!  I used a small marvy snowflake punch to replace the "cherry" on top to go with the season!  Please join us and learn to make this fun card!

Fall Cards

I just finished making card samples for our fall card class on

Saturday, November 8th 6pm-8pm and Wednesday November 12th from 10-12pm.  I love the colors of fall.

 

This first card I used a technique called "chalk resist" and did this all over glossy paper.  I stamped the flower by savvy stamps in dark brown ink and put a fun happy fall tag by A Muse art stamps.

 

This next card I used a leaf quatro set by Hero arts and stamped it randomly then used the purple marvy scalloped square punch and stamped the leaves onto the white cardstock and punched out a fun maple leaf.

 

This next card is using starbursts by Impress rubber stamps, I randomly stamped them in fall colors and used a sentiment by A Muse art stamps.

 

For this next card, I couldn't go without having a bird design in my class (sorry Erna), I used greens and purples and fun flourishes.  It's fall in the french country.

 

This next card uses the small maple leaf punch by Martha Stewart.  I just punched a bunch of pretty fall colors and glittered them using Golden rod glitter glue by Stickles.

 

This last card is my favorite because it's so quick and easy!  It's a leaf set by Kodomo.. and what I like about this set is that these leaves are "real" leaves and you can see the veins in the images when they are stamped.  So cool!!!  They stamp wonderful!  I stamped them in different fall colors and then stamped many thanks by A Muse and blinged it up with one of my favorite colors of stickles "cinnamon."

I will post more cards on Friday... and don't forget we will have a free make and take every Saturday in November at the Paper Garden.  I made a very cool winter cupcake card using the new clear set by A Muse.  I will share it with you on Friday!!!  Please come and get creative!

I'm back!!!

It's been a long time since I've posted some cards and I have lots!!!  It's been a crazy two weeks and I'm finally getting back into the groove of things.  First... I had a blast in Seattle, helping my good friend Linda from A Muse art stamps.  Check out her blog at www.amusenews.typepad.com

you can see her beautiful new store in Seattle.  We had a great time setting it up for her new location.  I had a great time getting to know her three daughters and husband and catching up with Linda... our late night hours working together each night reminded me of my college days hanging out the dorms with my best girlfriends.  So fun! 

Here's a look at some of the projects we will do in our Handmade holiday class.  Fyi..we have added a class on

Sunday, November 9th from 10am-12pm, we also have openings on Friday, November 14th  10am -12pm.   

 

First, we will make this fun little goody bag.  With pretty ribbon, fun papers and some punches.. you can make this treat bag and fill it up with your favorite candy.

 

This next treat box is made by a guest designer from A Muse.
