Summer classes -- July, August, and September

Our summer class schedule is out!!  Please take a look at all of the fun events we have for you and our two special guest instructors from A Muse.  WE have Julie Ebersole coming in July and classes are already filling up.. please call the store if you're interested and Linda Carnell, the owner and lead designer of A Muse will teach classes in September, she is helping us celebrate 3 years at the Paper Garden and we're so honored to have them both back at the boutique!!!

Bookmark Make and Take -- Tuesday

Please join us for the first Tuesday of the Month make and take and take home a copy of our summer newsletter filled with classs for July, August and September 2009.  We have a lot of fun stuff planned for your summer.

 

My friend Linda Carnell of A Muse art stamps gave me this idea, but I couldn't figure out how to do it.. the measurements and all.. so my husband (who could just look at something and figure it out) came up with this idea and he took a 6 X 6 square cardstock and cut it in half.  He then scored each corner at 2" and then score it at an angle and folded the corners in.  We punched out an extra giga scallop square punch (the mint green marvy punch) and a purple square punch and put it all together.  So fun! 

 

Here's what it looks like on the book.  I have to make a twilight bookmark with red, black and white!!!!  I love twilighlight and can't wait to see new moon!  Anyway, have fun making these bookmarks, you could get the template and make one for free this Tuesday!

Make and Take -- Friday, May 29th

 Did you see all of their fun papers and stamps?  We have them all in stock!   I just love the new gingham papers.  They make me so happy!

 

For these lollipops i used the caramel apple lolly's, they are a nice size and taste good!  I gut the gingham papers at 2.75" X 7" and scored it at 3.5" -- i then took the anywhere hole punch by making memories for the lollipop hole.  Please join us on Friday! 

Toilet Paper mini scrapbooks

Hi again!  I got this fun and recycable idea from another A Muse art stamps designer Beck Rusher , her blogsite is: www.thepolkadotcafe.blogspot.com

It's using toilet paper rolls.  you just flatten them and cover them with paper and then i used my bind it all to bind the rings together and punch the holes.

 

For this one, i used 4 toilet paper cylinders and covered them designer papers.

 

and then i put miles pix to tuck inside.

 

see how they just perfectly fit inside.

Here's another idea.

 

I think i will put in different gardening seeds for Miles teacher, she loves to garden!  Have fun making your own!

More invitations ideas

Here are more invitation i recently made.  I am sending this batch to Linda from A Muse art stamps to put in her store for inspiration.

These are using her new stamps from her blossom and baby line.

 

I used the big green extra giga punch to make a big scallop circle.

 

Here's another fun criss cross fold with a baby shower invite.

 

This one if my favorite.  Many of my mommy to be's want to be surprised at the sex of their baby, so i designed this card using the new A Muse baby line.

and when you open up the invite.  There's the details of the shower and registry.  So fun!

and when i saw it.. i said.. we have to do this!  It's so cute!  Linda has the die cut at her shop in Seattle and you can roll out the butterfly for free when you buy your paper there.. i don't have the die cut, but i did the second best thing and traced it for a template and used her pretty polka dot papers she designed to make this!  When you come to the make and take you'll get a free pencil holder and a free template!  please join us!

Beautiful Cranes

Here's another pretty card we'll be doing in our asian class next Friday!

 

I started with a piece of gray cardstock and rounded the corners.  I stamped a cherry blossom by Kodomo on the ends of the card and cut out a black square and purple washi paper.  I then stamped a crane ensemble by Hanko designs and punched it out and embossed the images.  So pretty!

More asian card designs

Here are more cards for our asian class Friday, May 22nd from 10am-12pm and 6pm-8pm

 

This card is a new clear set from Kodomo inc.  I used copic pens and "SMOOCH" to color in the designs.  It's a very vibrant pretty card!

 

This card is really cool.  The pink pieces are cut at 4.0 X 9.25 and a cream piece of cardstock that's a tri-fold.  I stamped the cherry blossom in staz on black and then colored it in with the uniball white pigment ink pen -- a must have!  I then stamped little blossoms in staz-on white ink and punched out a thank you stamp.  Stamps by A Muse and Hanko.  Glitter glue is: "sequins."

 

This next card uses new images by A Muse.  I also punched out a big flower punch by Marvy.  Julie Ebersole taught this "origami-like" fold in her last visit to Sacramento during A Museapalooza 2008 where you punch out the flower and score it and fold in the corners.  The flower opens up and i put a sentiment "hi, friend" inside.  So cute!  Please call the store if you would like to take the asian card class and Julie's classes in July!

Invitation ideas

Here's a few invitation ideas we made at the store.  We mainly deal with invitations and announcements.  But many people who have never visited our store think we're just your normal stamp store.  It's actually paper crafting, book binding, stationery, children's gifts, lots of cardstock, envelopes and yes.. stamps and ribbons galore!   Here is an invitation for Miles 4th birthday!

 

This is an a2 tuxedo fold.  I score 2 -- a2 cards and cut them at an angle, corner to corner and taped them together.  I then cut a narrow strip of 3m puffy tape and lined the bottom so i could stick in the invitation.

 

I used a Martha Stewart train border and punched it across and the stamp on the front is by A Muse.  This is a quick and easy invitation.

 

This next invitation is for a bride who is getting married this summer. She's a very conservative and professional woman who wanted something simple.  This is what we came up with and she's carrying calla lily's so we used this beautiful oversized calla lily by B line designs.  I stamped it with a versamark ink pad and embossed it with pastel embossing powder by Judikins.  Look at the beautiful detail.  The bottom cardstock is stardream bronze and the printing is done on stardream quartz.  I like the quartz color better than the stark white.  This quartz color reminds me of the classic Vera Wang wedding white.  It's beautiful. 

The invitation also has a direction card and hotel information card with this.  As well as a 5.5 X 8.5 envelope and 4 bar reply card envelope with the "european" fold where the envelope dips down into a nice oval curve at the end.  It's a very nice presentation.  The guests will sure to love this invite and it will set the tone to a beautiful evening.  We print on our laser.  It is so much better than printing on an ink jet.  For one thing.  It will never dry and another, my laser takes the heavy 110-pound cardstock.  So beautiful!  we'll have more fun invitations to share.

 

Make and Take- Furlough Friday, May 15th

We'll have another fun furlough Friday make and take May 15th from 11:30am-1:30pm.  Here's a fun summer make and take and I thought it would be perfect to make with the lemonade stand!

 

The template is a 4-bar (3.5 X 5) sized notecard made into a match book.  I stapled the bottom and tied lime green ribbon by A Muse around the bottom.  Stamps are by A Muse and Rubber Soul.
