Dave Brethauer-- Guest Designer's visit!

We are so happy to have Dave Brethauer from Memory box return to our boutique to teach more classes on water color and colored pencils using his fabulous cardstocks that he designed as well as his signature stamps!  He is a one man show and does it all.  here are some samples of his work: 

 

Dave's watercolor techniques are so subtle and when he embellishes with flower soft or jewels or stickles it makes you want to make a bunch of these.. now!

 

see the simplicity!  he is one of the most talked about designers in our store.  Our customers ask us.. how do you do this?  i'm like.. uhhhhhhhhh..... i think dave did this.. or that....

Glitter.. glitter... bling!

At the Paper Garden... we love to have everything glittery!  Recently, i came across some plastic pumpkins i had in my store and had Chelsea glitter these up using a brush and our pva glue.

Aren't they beautiful! 

We used the Martha Stewart glitter.  I originally saw this done by my very very very creative sister in law Jane who made one last year.  however, i didn't know you can do this with those cheap plastic ones until we tried it.  Then, at bel air grocery store of all places.. i saw these skulls... and laurie glittered these up!

We used red gemstones to give it that beety eye appeal!  So fun.

This card uses some of my favorite small asian images and i stamped them in a small circle punch. 

this fun card uses the new cloud background stamp by and asian dolls by Hero arts.  Chelsea formed these hangars by taking apart our paper clips and forming them into mini hangars.  so cute!

I've always wanted to do a card like this.. making sushi from punches and chopsticks with brown cardstock.  I used the little gemstones to make tobiko and little square green gemstones for cucumber.. and what's sushi without that plastic green grass!!

this last card uses a gingko stamp by Kodomo.. I used sea green to stamp the images all over!  Please call the store if you're interested in taking the class!  thanks!

Holiday Card Classes!

This first card i made as if you're looking at this beautiful winter cottage scene from inside a home. 

 

This next card is using the new blackbird color box chalk ink pad onto the white stardream.  It stamps so nice on the shimmer papers.  Stamp are by A Muse and Memory box.

 

This next card is one of my favorites.  I used a 1.25" punch and punched out circles from scraps of designer papers and made little ornaments.  The tops of the ornaments are made by punching out a yellow marvy scallop circle and only using 3 of the scallops .. pretty cool!  Stamps are by A Muse.

 

I thought it would be fun to make a girly girl card.  So i chose pinks for this one and used snowflakes.. embossed.. stamped onto overhead paper and stamped in pink!

 

This card makes me hungry!  it's  fun snowflake cupcake image by Savvy.  I also lke their new sentiment.. sweet holiday wishes!  I used lots of glitter and background papers by memory box.

 

This last card uses patterned stardream cardstock.  I cut out the layers and then punched out the curls by using the new martha stewart edger.  I love this look!  The red really pops out all of the other colors.  This is a great card to make with your scraps!  Stamps by A Muse.  Please call the store if you can join us!  916 487 2737

Miles' first day of Pre K 4

Miles started his Pre Kindergarten class this tuesday and he had a great time this week playing with all of his friends!

 

We were in bed by 9pm but Miles couldn't fall asleep until 12:30am because he was so excited to go to school! 

 

My little boy is growing up!!!!!
