Cupcake Cards!

Please join us for another fun Cupcake card class --- Cupcakes all day long!  Yippee!

Saturday, April 3rd 6pm-8pm, and Monday, April 5th 10am-12pm cost:  $35.00

Here are the 6 cards we'll be making... i want to eat them all!

This first card i used soft blues and poka dots.  i even made my own sprinkles with glitter glue.  stamps by a muse and savvy.

This next card is a cupcake garden that i made into cupcake topiary!   I used flower soft raspberry for the frosting.  it actually reminds me up close of zinger -- you know those high calorie yummy treat cakes by dolly madison.  i love those!  WE also have the grass edger by martha in stock!

For this next card, i used our triangle punch by marvy to make penants and made scraps for this penant banner.  stamps by a muse and leavenworth jackson and lockhart.

I made this cupcake set into a little garden as well.  to get these little leaves.. all you do is punch out a circle and then use that circle and punch it again and you get these little "orzos" (you know that pasta stuff).. so cute!  Stamps by savvy and hero arts.

This card was fun because i was able to use the new marvy plate punch.  it punches out a hollow rectangle and then two holes on the side -- so you can add brads or ribbon.. this is so festive!

ART HOP --Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27

Please join us this Friday and Saturday for Destination ART!  Travel with us and receive your pass port at our boutique.  Here's what you do:

Anytime between 10am and 6pm stop by the Paper Garden Boutique and we will stamp your pass port... do a free make and take and receive a door prize (**these are limited***) first come, first served.  Then visit these store:

1.  JR Flamingo fabrics

2.  Art Ellis

3.  Piece of Mind Beads and Jewelry

receive passport stamps from these local stores and leave your "completed" passports at any of these places you visit for a drawing which includes baskets full of fun stuff worth hundreds of dollars!  You can also bring in a canned food item to each destination for a separate drawing for the Grand Prize Basket.  We will donate all canned goodes to the Sacramento Food Bank.   Our store donated a queen sized baby blanket worth 185-dollars!!  We are so excited to be a part of the wonderful event!

Here is the make and take for Friday.  Saturday's make and take will be something different.

Friday, April 2nd ~ Spring has Sprung!

Spring is in the air and we'll be making some cards to make this season a reality!  Please join us on Monday, April 19th 10am-12pm or 6pm-8pm cos:  $35.00 ... we'll make 6 beautiful cards.  here are 5 of them.. i forgot the last one at the store!  but there will be 6 cards!

this first card i used birds of course.. since their chirping is a big sign that spring is here!

Stamps by impression obsession, hero and a muse.

This card i made me think of an old english garden.  i used this hero arts flower and stamped it three times.  i then took three different brilliance ink pads and stamped the flower again and punched out the center.  the fence punch is by martha stewart.  the background flower is by rubber soul.

These stamps are so fun .. they are new by american art stamp.  i love the mushrooms!  there are two different mushroom stamps.  one with butterflys and one with the lady bug.  I stamped it three times to get this effect across the bottom.  I then took the new martha grass edge punch that we finally have in and used it for the bottom of the card.  i added a sun, tiny blossom and sentiment to finish off the card.  Stamps by A muse.

This is another new stamp we have by impression obsession.  Don't you love the beehive.  So cool!  Sentiment by a muse, background and bee by memory box.

and finally.. a fun trio of flower stamps all in a row.  the three flowers are different ones from impress.  i used the little starburst to add some color to the background by memory box.  and of course.. it's springtime with butterflies , stamp by savvy stamps, sentiment by a muse.  hope to see you soon!

Friday, March 26th -- Spring Flowers

We'll make 6 beautiful cards to brighten your day!

This first card reminds of when i go to a japanese restaurant and the little carrots or radishes that they peel and cut are in cute little blossoms like these.  I love this stamp.  There's a solid and gingham blossom and i stamped them in different spring colors.  We just so happened to have a punch that looks like this blossom too!  STamps by impression obsession and a muse.

This next card reminds me of a groovy - hippy look.  I got the inspiration to make this card after i bought a tin from the 1-dollar bin at target.   Stamps by Rubber soul and a muse.

I wanted to use the new ultra fine flower soft to make this card.  Dave brethauer from memory box sent us a card sample using this similar look and it was so cool!  had to do it again!  All stamps by memory box.

This card uses bits of scraps.  I love the little flowers on this card.  The blue and pink cardstocks are actually printed papers we have in the store that are 8.5 x 11 sheets.  So pretty!  I hoard these scraps!

This card is one of my favorites.  It's an oversized poppy.  i stamped it in blackberry.. a new color from colorbox chalk ink.  i then stamped it again on very light lavendar cardstock and cut out the poppy.

I love thee colors on this last card.  it's a #10 card (4 X 9.25).. this would make a beautiful invite!  I stamped the flowers by savvy stamps and embossed it in white powder.  I then stamped the thank you by a muse on the front panel.  The fuschia color really comes out against the aqua.

Paris By Day -- Friday, March 19th

Before I was TV news reporter, I was a flight attendant for NorthWest Airlines -- right out of college.  It was the best job, Paris one day, New York another, Asia the next.. then.. an economic slump hit in the early 90's and 500 of us were furloughed!  The good thing.. a month later.. i landed my first tv reporting gig in GUAM!  Anyway.. one of my most memorable trips was a 2 day layover in Paris.  Wow!  Amazing... I love everything about that city and i could listen to the French speak alllllll day!

This first card is made with a lovely flower stamp by Memory Box.. I punched out fleur de lis' on the bottom of the card.  Sentiment by Rubber Soul.

 
This card was a no nonsense card.  I have been making those lately.. a collage of sorts.  Again, i used the fleur de lis border and put a fuschia pink flower to make the colors pop.

This next card is a background stamp by Impress.  I love the filigree detail.  Chandelier stamp is by Impression Obsession and sentiment is a clear set by Hero arts.  by adding some pink chiffon and black.. it makes this card a girls night out!

This is another one of the collage things.. i just stamp wheverever and start putting shapes on the card to fill it in.  i dunno....  Stamps by leavenworth jackson and judikins.

This is one of my favorite cards.  This would make a perfect invitation!  The rose stamp and chandelier are by Impress and flourish is by Judikins.  I ruffled the edges.  The card will fit in a #10 envelope (4" X 10").

This last card is also one of my favorites.  I used another fleu de lis punch by ek success and put them on the side.  I then stamped this beautiful bird stamp by memory box on the corner.  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you're interested in taking the class!

  

Egg hunt!

Since Miles' has been born we have done an easter egg hunt in our backyard.  Last year, i hid 200 eggs and they were found in a few minutes by miles' cousins and friends!  I didn't put much candy in it.. instead i like to put little toys, erasers, and gold 1-dollar coins!  oh yeah!

This is the invite i did today. i was in a hurry to do something quick.. so here's the quick idea!

I used this fun martha stewart gate punch and then stamp tall grass blades by impress and stamped the egg in several different colors by  a muse.

we are excited to host another fun egg hunt and easter sunday brunch!

Asian Card Class-- Saturday and Monday

This first card is a collage.  The little kokeishi dolls are new from Hanko designs.  The other stamps are Impress, leavenworth jackson and judikins.

this next card is a made from new origami papers that we have.  These origami papers come in a mixed set and they are traditional kimono prints replicated for paper.  i love this pack and hoard it!  Stamps are by B line designs and kodomo.

This next card is also from the kimono print papers.  I used stamps by a muse and memory box.  When you open up the card. it looks like this:

Again, the papers are lovely!  they are also double sided!

This next card was made by me.. but i totally cased it from my girlfriend tina whitted.  She is sooooo sweet.  My friend wanda (her blog is www.wandaguess.typepad.com check it out!  she is super duper talented and can color with the copics so well!  wanda is also an inspiration to me!) was so lucky to visit tina for a fun day of stamping last weekend and she brought these goodies back for me and all of my staff!  again.. i did not make these..i am not talented enough to do this!

she made this mini bag and copied my logo onto some iron paper.  so cool!  see the kimono with the bamboo?  i cased that to do my panda card.

Anyway.. my husband ken came up with the panda idea and made it all from punches!  isn't it so cute!  Thanks Tina and ken! 

Asian Card Class-- Friday, March 12th, 2010

Here are a few cards we'll be making:

This first card is a new gingko stamp by leavenworth Jackson.  I stamped it in different tones of pinks. 

This next card is a dragonfly card with an asian background stamp.  I actually stamped and embossed the dragonfly, but it's hard to see.  When you open up the card.. it has another dragonfly stamped on the blue cardstock.

Make and Take --Second Saturday

Sprinkles on the Cupcake

Here are some of the cards we'll be making!

This first card I used one inch strips of cardstock in fun spring colors and then used a new cupcake stamp by hampton arts. 

This card reminds me of Mary Englebreit.  I used lady bug colors and blinged up the cupcakes with a new glue pen.  It's called glue gloss and it looks like a lip gloss dispenser.  the wand is a clear glue and it goes on really fast and you just sprinkle on the loose glitter.  i love this new product and the packaging is a-1.  you can also use glue gloss as a liquid applique to make your images look glossy.  Stamps by American Art stamp.

This is a fun spring card.  This cupcake is made by Karen lockhart.  I used a flower edger by Martha and stamp the cupcake randomly. Sentiment by Savvy Stamps.

The cupcake gal is also made by American Art stamp.  I took lavender and chocolate colors to make this fun card.  Again, i used the glue gloss to apply the prisma glitter.

This beautiful flower stamp is one of my favorites by Memory box.  It reminds me of wallpaper at a Paris boutique hotel.  The cupcake is by Rubber soul.  Sentiment by A Muse.  Please call the store at 916-487-2737 if you are interested in the class!
