Howl-o-ween cards! Saturday, October 9th and Monday, October 11th

More halloween fun as we continue to gear up for ghosts and gobins.

Please join us on Saturday, October 9th 6pm-8pm or Monday, October 11th 10am-12pm for another fun spooktacular card class.

this is a fun way to make your card tie-dyed and groovy.  i learned this technique when dave brethauer from memory box came to teach classes at our store.  it's so cool... you will want to make tons!

and this is fun ladder card using our new edger punches.

Waterfall Halloween Card class

We have another popular waterfall cardmaking class!  This time..it's halloween!

Please join us on Friday, October 1st 10am-12pm and 6pm-8pm (this time period is not in our newsletter.. but we'll have a class that evening) and on Wednesday, October 6th 10am-12pm

In this class, you will make 4 different waterfall cards!  here are three of them.

this first card.. i used the spider web edger to make the belly band. 

as you pull out the card.. you will see a colony of spiders!

and finally a trick or treat spider bag!

this next card.. screams.. "wicked", my husband took me to see the broadway version of the show in s.f. .. it was great!  my most favorite musical ..ever!

these stamps are by impress and i just love the flourishes on them.  i used the end of the stamps to create this border look.

the house is by a muse and just love it!

finally.. got to color in the witches face green since it's the color of elphaba's face.

This next card i made a fun, eat, drink and be scary card.  i used the sentiment by a muse and cut it up... watch...

Lollipop fun! Make and Take Friday and Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm

Please join us this Friday from 11:30am-1:30pm and you can make this fun lollipop holder.. be early this halloween for treats and goodies at the workplace and school!

i got these eyeball suckers at the dollar tree.  you get six of them for a buck.  i took our new shimmer boutique cardstock in grape and made a fun holder for the eyeball!  stamps are by a muse.

If you are around on SAturday, you can also make this fun lolli...just in time for autumn and thanksgiving!

these fun pumpkin suckers came from the dollar tree as well.  my cousin laurie made a sample of this and told me you get a big bag of these for a buck.. of course, i had to go and get some and made this fun lolly holder!  you can also make this into a fun placecard holder for turkey day!  please join us this friday and saturday to make something fun, creative and yummy!

 

Waterfall holiday cards

This first card is made with holiday critters.

This next waterfall was sooooo fun, because my number one past time is.. eatting candy!!!  and lots of it!

i love the old fashioned colors and apothecary jars.

keep flipping and you can see fun candy-themed stamps.

finally the end.. sweet holiday wishes!  stamps are by a muse and memory box.

this next card screams santa!

as you flip the card, there's hints of christmas and christmas eve..

santa's sleigh is making his rounds...

and finally as you flip to the sentiment.. a very merry christmas with santa's belt!  stamps are by savvy and a muse. 

this last waterfall was fun to make with the pinks and silvers!  i used all snowmen for this card.

as you flip through the card, you will see the rest of the snowman family...

and finally the guy with the cup of joe!  once you get the measurements in place you can make different sizes of the waterfall and have fun with the punches.  note:  it's much easier making the waterfall cards using punches!!  so fast and simple!  i love the mint colored extra giga punches from marvy.. they work well with these cards!  please call the store if you're interested in this class:  916 487 2737   

Friday, September 17 10am-12pm handmade hair clips

Please join us for a new class that's sure to promise some new inspiration with all of those ribbons you have lying around your craft room!  Eryn Cech will inspire you to make these beautiful hair clips.

you will learn an array of new techniques by using just inches of ribbons and gemstones to create these one of a kind hair designs.

Eryn has been making these hair clips ever since her first daughter emi began growing lots of hair as an infant...

then came her second daughter miya with lots of hair..

and soon she will welcome her third daughter to the nest!

her hair clips are sold in boutique stores around northern california and on etsy.

Make and Take Saturday, September 11

Please join us for another fun make and take this Saturday, September 11th from 11:30am-1:30pm and we'll make this fun calendar that laurie designed.  These calendars are thee best gift to give..it's the gift that keeps on giving for an entire year and they are only 35-cents each for one.. we pkg them in 10's and they are 3.50 for a pack and come in 4 different sizes.  i have carried these for 4 years and every single year we sell out by early november.  don't forget to pick up the 2011 calendar.  we have been making lots of these and samples in our store, so you will want to see all of our fun designs.  this saturday, you can take one of these home for free!

we used our edger fiskars edger for the top portion and stamped this memory box flower twice and then punched out a butterfly.  the calendar backing is my favorite punch by ek success and then put a ribbon at the top!  so fun!  the calendar sits by having the cardstock scored in three's like a tent card.  please join us this saturday!

Asian Card class, Saturday, September 11 and monday, September 13

here are the card we'll be making!

This first card i made with a new technique!  my friend cindi who owns savvy stamps says a great way to make prisma glitter stay on your cards is using rubber cement.  well.. i tried it and boy does it work great!!!!  wow.. take a look... the bottle comes with an attached brush so you just brush it on and it sticks very well!  stamps are by memory box.

this next card i used holiday card colors and stamped a dragon in the middle and heat it.  stamps are by memory box.  if you like asian designs and stamps, you must start collecting all of the memory box' new stamp line called "poppy stamps" and collect each one.  especially because i have been making tons of cards using these images and you will soon have a wide collection of different cards and tags because we love these images so much we have had so much fun playing with them!

here's another example of the new stamp line.  i love the crane embossed in silver.  it's so winter crisp!

this crane stamp is another timeless stamp that i love by hanko designs.  i stamped a twig and embossed it in gold for the side and added a coin.

this is a fun easel card project.  we finally got those wonderful mini calendars in the store and we'll be making these for a gift!  stamp is by hanko.

this is a fun tri-fold card.  linda from a muse came out this past weekend to help us celebrate our 4 year anniversary and she taught a 15-dollar class using this tri-fold.  lucky me, she gave me the rest of her blank cards and i thought.. thanks!!  i will make a card out of it!!! 

when you open it up, there's some cute kokeishi dolls!  stamps are by hero arts.

Halloween card class --Friday, September 10th

I just love the colors of halloween and making cards for this fun event!   This year, Miles says he wants to be a ghost.  wow.. that's an easy one!  i think i have an old sheet!  Here are the cards we'll be making.

This is a stamp by impression obsession and it's oh so fun!  cupcakes with creep creatures on the them!  i love the sentiment with this one.. bite me!

this card was made after i saw my son wearing a batman t-shirt he recently got from my aunt.  i thought..hmmmmmmmmmm... we have a big bat punch and a bat stamp!  i embossed the bat by a muse arts stamps and then punched out the bat and put it through my xyron machine and glittered it!  wow!  this is also a great invite for a boy!

to go with this batman card.. you need a spiderman card with it!  here's another fun boy invite.  i punched out the spider and did the same thing.. ran it through my xryon and glittered it!

this is a fun mummy card!  my hubby forgot to take a pix of the inside but it's a pop up card with several spiders inside!  stamps are by a muse.

spiders and chandeliers definitely make a great combo for halloween esp with its webbing!  i embossed this beautiful chandelier by b line designs in black diamond embossing powder by judikins and then used a small tiny spider stamp by memory box and embossed them in silver!  so cool!

this one is my favorite card.  it's a ladder card.  i took our new ek success punches and punched out some borders and made a fun halloween greeting!  it would be great to make this also a invitation!!!  stamps are by a muse and impression obsession.
