Make and Take --Sunday, January 2nd and Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

Can you believe by next week... it's already 2011!!  that was really weird to write 2011.  Anyway... we would love for you to join us for our first make and take of 2011.. this Sunday and Tuesday from 11:30-1:30pm.  You will make this adorable candy holder.

on one side.. it's says.. with love, on the other side .. it's a cute heart.  We used the pink and blue marvy heart punches.

the heart is hand drawn into a stamp by my friend missy ballance! she's so talented.  i love that almost everything she draws or makes has a face on it!  you can put this chocolate dove heart inside!  my husband ken designed the candy holder!  it's nice because you can stand it upright!  don't forget today there's another fun make and take!

This make and take is made with an a2 envelope.  we did a similar project for halloween.. inside are hershey kisses!  drop by the store and we'll show you how easy it is to make this perfect treat bag!  love the colors!

New Japanese Coin Cardstocks

Here are a few more fun project we did with our exclusive japanese coin cardstocks.  My husband's cousin's son and his wife are expecting a baby so we helped her make her baby shower invites and favor boxes.  here's a look at what we came up with!

pair them together and it makes a perfect start to a beautiful theme for a baby shower!  doesn't it look like "dwell baby studio"?

 

Exclusive cardstock for the Paper Garden-- Asian Coins

I Love our new cardstocks!  one side.. it's a classic asian coin look.. on the other..it's cream cardstock.

take a look.  it comes in 6 beautiful colors!

the coins can up up or down like waves.  my graphic artist greg mar helped me design these beautiful cardstock in 8.5 X 11.  you can even print on top of the cardstock because the colors are so light.  we made a baby shower invitation with these cardstocks last week for a customer and boy do they look awesome!  i will post a pix.  the invite looks like it came from "dwell" baby .. it's very contemporary and very modern.  you will love to play with these.... again.. i have to save all of the scraps.. too fun to give up!  the cardstock are 20 sheets for 10-bucks.. and we have an assorted pack of 20 for 10-bucks too!  please come into the store and check them out. we'll be making lots of valentine's and easter samples with these beautys as well.  again.. we are so proud to have our very very very own cardstocks exclusive.. in our boutique!

Year of the Rabbit

Come 2011.. the lunar calendar will read.. the year of the rabbit.. and so we had made some fun rabbit inspired cards for chinese new year.  here are the fun cards we made:

This first card i made with our new and exclusive cherry blossom cardstock.  i cut strips of it and placed it on the card.  the rabbit is by impression obsession.

this next card i made with a bamboo background by hero arts.  the rabbit is made with an oval punch by marvy and then the ears are made with an oval punch by ek success.  see the nose.. cute?  it's a hand punch by martha.  the symbol is a chop by memory box.  i used the martha grass edger for the grass.. and see the new asian coin cardstock?  that's another of our exclusive papers.. i will show you in more detail....

This next card is an cool effect i made using a paper crimper.  you put the cardstock in one way and then put in the crimper the opposite way and you get this waffle look.  i then embossed the rabbit in bronze and punched a few cherry blossoms.  rabbit stamp is by impression obsession.

this is one of my favorite cards.  i used a fortune cookie stamp by a muse and then made my own tags.. the to go box is hand cut and i used a fun pagoda stamp by kodomo to make the classic chinese take out symbol.  doesn't it look like that???  hahahaha.  for the chop sticks.. i just cut out strips of red cardstock.

for this rabbit card .. i stamped some fun cherry blossoms randomly and on the bottom of the card. i stamped bamboo.. and when you open the card.. you can see it spread. 

it opens at a "z" and see the background cardstock?  again.. the classic asian coins.  love the cardstock and you can only get it the paper garden!

this last card uses classes chinese new year colors.. gold and red!  this  is a dragon stamp set by kodomo.. i love the fire and the embossing in gold detail.  makes are big big difference.  i made this into a french door card.. when you open it up..

you can see the dragon symbol.. once again!

Be My Valetine card class

Please join us this Wednesday 10am-12pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm for  a fun valentine's card making class.  Cost:  $35

This first card is made with memory box's new line of valentine's stamps and our new fabulous cherry blossom cardstocks!  Chelsea made this card and it came out adorable.  we took an idea from memory box's layout, but we can't do the watercolor like dave and the pencils.. uhhhhhh... he's waaaaaaaaay to good for us.. so we modified it .. very simple and very pretty!

 
This is another new memory box knock off.. again.. no watercoloring.. cause we are not dave and can't even compete with the king of watercolor.. instead.. we embossed the heart in white embossing powder and used a copic marker to make the beautiful pink!  the new background papers are by memory box as well for this valentine's season!

 
now on to paper garden style.  this card is made with our exclusive cherry blossom papers.. i stamped the big heart and then put this beautiful floral eiffel tower and colored it in pinks and fuschia's.  the stamps are by b-line design and sending you love is by impress rubber stamps.

 
This next card is really pretty.  these a heart shaped fireflies by impression obsession.  i stamped the jar twice and embossed it in gold detail by judikins and just punched out the other fireflies and raised them with foam tape.  i colored in the fireflies with smooch and then laid a nice overlay of prisma glitter on top.  to make the fireflies shine even more, i used gold stickles.  yep.. it glows!

 
this next card is wreath stamp..my husband took a pix on its side.. but the ribbon is supposed to be op top.  anyway.. the wreath is new by hero arts and i stamped it in versamark and used pink embossing powder.  i then took a small heart shaped punch and punched out the hearts for the perimeter and of course i used stickles to in fruit punch and sequins.

 
this card is fun and can also be used for an engagement card or party or even a wedding card.  the love potion bottle is by impress and the cute couple is a stick figure with two other designs (i just masked off the other two sides) by rubber soul.

Bring a canned food Make and Take--Saturday and Sunday!

Come to the store this weekend and you can get a bonus make and take! 

from 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday, December 11th and 12th you can make these two fabulous treats-- with templates!  don't forget a canned good! 

first is a fun snowflake box filled with hershey kisses!  i just love this box originally done by linda from a muse art stamps.  www.amusenews.typepad.com

i used the blue marvy snowflake punch to fit perfectly on the box as well as the yellow scallop rectangle by marvy.  love them both.  you can use this box for any occasion just change out the front.  you can get three of these boxes on one sheet of cardstock.

our second project is this beautiful pillow box.. we made it into a santa outfit.  again.. you can hold kisses and candy canes!  here's the catch.. you can make both if you bring a canned good.  we want to help the needy this holiday seaon.. and just one canned good or more can bring you a wealth of happiness for the less fortunate.  of course, if you don't have a canned good to share, you can still make a project.. we would never turn anyone down... but remember, the local savemart and trader joe's is just around the corner from the store, so you can pick up one and come on by and donate your canned good.  the sacramento city food bank would be so appreciative!  hope to see you this weekend!!  the recipients of these two project will love your handmade goodies!
