Come 2011.. the lunar calendar will read.. the year of the rabbit.. and so we had made some fun rabbit inspired cards for chinese new year. here are the fun cards we made:
This first card i made with our new and exclusive cherry blossom cardstock. i cut strips of it and placed it on the card. the rabbit is by impression obsession.
this next card i made with a bamboo background by hero arts. the rabbit is made with an oval punch by marvy and then the ears are made with an oval punch by ek success. see the nose.. cute? it's a hand punch by martha. the symbol is a chop by memory box. i used the martha grass edger for the grass.. and see the new asian coin cardstock? that's another of our exclusive papers.. i will show you in more detail....
This next card is an cool effect i made using a paper crimper. you put the cardstock in one way and then put in the crimper the opposite way and you get this waffle look. i then embossed the rabbit in bronze and punched a few cherry blossoms. rabbit stamp is by impression obsession.
this is one of my favorite cards. i used a fortune cookie stamp by a muse and then made my own tags.. the to go box is hand cut and i used a fun pagoda stamp by kodomo to make the classic chinese take out symbol. doesn't it look like that??? hahahaha. for the chop sticks.. i just cut out strips of red cardstock.
for this rabbit card .. i stamped some fun cherry blossoms randomly and on the bottom of the card. i stamped bamboo.. and when you open the card.. you can see it spread.
it opens at a "z" and see the background cardstock? again.. the classic asian coins. love the cardstock and you can only get it the paper garden!
this last card uses classes chinese new year colors.. gold and red! this is a dragon stamp set by kodomo.. i love the fire and the embossing in gold detail. makes are big big difference. i made this into a french door card.. when you open it up..
you can see the dragon symbol.. once again!
