Make and Take~ Tuesday, Feb 1st and Saturday, Feb. 5th ~ 11:30-1:30pm

Please join us next Tuesday, February 1st and Saturday, February 5th for another fun make and take.. this time, it's an origami heart made from pretty cardstock!

This is sort of a fun origami heart.  it's very easy to make and i used an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock.  i filled it with salt water taffy.. yummy!

here's another color.  you can also hang this with pretty ribbon!  i used a heart link stamp by impression obsession and the valentine greetings is by memory box. 

if you make them in different colors, they look so pretty!!  very ornamental.  you can put all kinds of treats inside, once folded the size is about 7 X 7!  it would also be fun to put all of your children's little valentine cards from class inside or even a cookie and gift card!  i will have to make a bunch of these!  we'll give you the template and pieces to go with this make and take.  you will love it!  hope to see you soon!

Here are two of the pretty cards we'll be making.  The lovely and talented Laurie at the store made this cards and i said.. wow!!  i'm using this one for our class!  thanks laurie!

We used our exclusive asian coin cardstock for the background and stamped memory box's asian line for the chop, fan and newspaper background.  very spring-like.

for this next card, i used a snippet of each of our coin cardstocks for the bottom to give some color and then used memory box's dragonfly.  i love this new ribbon from may arts.  it's a sheer lavendar with pretty flowers.  this card is great to make if you have and hoard all of your little pieces of scrap cardstock.  yep.. that's me!

Make and Take --Friday, January 28th and Saturday, January 29th

Please join us for another fun make and take this Friday and Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm.  you will love this one!!  i saw it on splitcoast stampers and i thought.. i need to do this!!  we put our own paper garden take on it and i love it!

it's a conversation heart candy box and we turned it into an i-pod!  the ear pieces are made with reece's and a heart punch!  so fun!  you will make one of these for free!  please join us this friday and saturday!!!

More girlie cards!

Here are the last two cards we'll be making this Friday and Saturday in our girlie girl card class.  it's been a popular class!

This background card was originally an invite to a 50th birthday!  i loved it so much, i thought..i would love to make it into a card.  this one shouts.. spa day!  the stamps are by impress, memory box and impression obsession and a muse.  i love the colors. especially the new flat pink tone in stardream cardstock!  love them all!

and the last card is a soft array of lavendar colors.  the stamps are by impression obsession and savvy.  it's a simple birthday card.  i love the branches!  there's a solid and an outlined branch.  we used these stamps with several of our asian cards too!  hope you can join us!  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you are interested!

Girlie, Glitterie and Glamorous

This is a class that i have always wanted to do.. and now it's a reality!  please join us on

for our first ever girlier, glitterie and glamorous card making class.  here are 4 of 6 cards we'll be making.  these are fun.. and yes.. glitterie!

This first card is made with body forms by b line design.  the background is a floral stamp by memory box.  i embossed the body forms in detail black.  so cool!

this next card is also a body form .. it's my version of a vera wang butterfly dress.  i embossed it in black detail and outlined the cardstock with glitter.  i made the pearl necklace with liquid pearls!

This next card is made with a cube stamp with 4 different shoes on them.. of course the sentiment is perfect.. "shoe queen" by b line designs.  the damask stamp is by memory box.

this next card is two sizes of damask backgrounds by impress.  i stamped them and then heat set them in detail black. the red chandelier really pops out the colors.  these cards were so fun to make.. we'll show you the next two as soon as i get them done!!!  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you would like to take the class!

These are actually two hershey chocolate nuggets stacked on top of eachother.  i saw this idea on splitcoast stampers.  and i thought.. ok.. here it is.. i have to make this!!  It's really easy to make.  i used the flag for the mailbox using a blue scallop rectangle punch, the mail box open lid is made with a yellow oval punch.  the heart is made with a yellow heart punch and the smaller heart is made with the standard heart punch.  please join us this saturday and you can bring home one of these..it'll make great gifts for your co workers and neighbors and classroom friends!!!  so fun!

Beautiful Pastels of Spring card class

If you are ready for some sunshine and spring weather.. here are some cards to make you feel like it's March and April! 

I took out all of our pastel cardstocks from the shelf and started working on spring cards and here's what we'll be making!

The class is:

Saturday, January 22nd 4pm-6pm and Monday, January 24th 10am-12pm cost $35

The first card is

The first card is made with our exclusive asian coin cardstock.  it comes in 6 colors.  20 sheets for 10-dollars, or you can get a mixed pack for the same price.  so beautiful! cream on one side, and print on the other.  love it!   you can also see our exclusive cherry blossom cardstock for the background.. this one is lavendar.  we also have a mixed pack for 10-dollars or 20 sheets for 10-dollars and it comes in 6 pastel colors!  This butterfly stamp and sentiment are by memory box.  i made a 4-bar pocketfold out of this one and when you lift up the card, you can also have room to stick a gift card inside or write a little note!

This flower is new by impression obsession.  i love that it's oversized and you can easily cut it out.  it's also great because it has dragonflies on it!

this card uses mixed sentiments of happy spring by a muse.  the flower is by hero arts.  I used twine for the card to tie the flowers.

this next card is made with a fun spring banner .. i wrote in the letter "b-l-o-o-m" with a chocolate le pen.  i like these pens because they have a very fine point and they dry nicely on stardream cardstock and there are no skip lines.  these are also perfect writing pens!  very versatile.  we have every color of the rainbow!  the flower stamp is by hero arts and i stamped the image twice.  the grass line edger punch is by martha stewart.  you can see that i used twine.. again (love it!) and the pennant banner is made with the marvy yellow square punch and the if you put the square back into the punch and angle it.. you can make that "v" -- it's easy --just ask chelsea.. she cut 100's of these for the class!  the little cherry blossom is by ek success.

This next card is a trick that i learned from julie ebersole.. lead designer at a muse art stamps.  www.papertrufflez.typepad.com

julie originally made a card like this in her amuseapalooza class last year.  she took this 5 inch organza ribbon and made a card similar to this.  i totally copied her and stamped a leave background onto cardstock and with the blossom stamp-- i stamped it on top of the organza ribbon with red poppy brilliance ink.  the key is to let it dry.. for a long time!!!  before putting it over the cardstock.  the sheerness of the ribbon let's the floral stamp shine through.  isn't it beautiful!  out of 1 yard of ribbon.. you can get 6 cards!  we have bolts of this if you want to try it.  it's 1.50 per yard, and you get 6 of this card size!  so fun!

This last card is a tag card.  it's almost like a tatami door.  if you spread it out.. you can see the butterflys flutter by!

Special Make and Take -- Monday, January 17th MLK Day

It's an old fashioned french fry box.  i got the template from a muse art stamps.

we will be using our exclusive cherry blossom cardstock in blossom and you will also get this template to make more!  stamps are by memory box.  the valentine's day sentiment has a heart on the side of the wood mount and i placed the heart in between the two owls!  the candies are yummy.. they are peppermint brachs taffys.  yummy!  i  bought the candy from bel air/raley's grocery store.  hope you can join us this monday! 

More Valentine's cards

Here are the last three cards we'll be making for our valentine's class this Saturday evening 4pm-6pm and on monday 10am-12pm.

This card is great with the sheet music background stamp.  i stamped it 4 times and also stamped it in the circle and made a bunch of different shapes with the punches.  the sentiment is very fitting.  stamps are by impression obsession and kodomo.

This next card is one of my favorites.  i stamped this vintage rose stamp by impress all over for the background.  i stamped it on pink cardstock using peach pastel ink by color box chalk.  isn't it so cool!  brings a very crisp shadowy look.  i then heat set the chandelier by savvy stamps in a soft gold.  the love is stamped in versafine sepia.

this last card i made using a layout by a muse art stamps.  i stamped a heart shaped flower by savvy stamps randomly and then i heat sest the heart.  it fits perfectly in the ek success 1.25" circle... of course i embossed it in red.  looks so valentine-ee.
