Make and Take --Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th

We have another fun make and take.  Did you know teacher appreciation week is coming up!  May 2nd-6th is a week to appreciate your teachers...it's a nationwide event and teachers everywhere should be acknowledged everyday.. but it's the one week they are recognized... so all of us at the paper garden have some fun ideas!!

it fits nice and secure.  just change up the colors and designs for the holidays or birthdays...it's a great idea!!  i will post some fun handmade teacher gifts that miles' will be giving to the entire staff .. yes.. i believe teacher appreciation week is not just for the teachers, but for the principal, the school secretary, the teacher's aide, the p-e teacher, librarian... i don't leave out anyone because these important peopl help miles' school thrive.  again.. look for some fun handmade projects.. i can't wait for miles' to hand them out!

this first card is a fun shoe cards with loves of purple colors!  i separated the spaces with circle punches!

 
this next card is fun.. i love the crown background.  the stamp on the front is a popular saying in england.  keeping it in tune to the red color makes the card really stand out.

 
this next card reminds me of paris in the 70's with all of the fun flowers!  a flower child right smack in the middle of france!  how fun!  very spring like too!

 
this card is by far my favorite.. it's like soooooooo.. vera wang!  i love how the flowers sit in the background.. so soft.. and so sweet!  the big rose stamp in the background is by memory box. and it's definitely a must have in my eyes!!! i love this stamp and have used it on so many cards.  i used bronze embossing powder for the dress by b line designs and cut it out.. so fun!!!  the flower on the dress is very modern.. i used three circle punches and edged them to make them a little shabby!  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you are interested in this class!

i love this card.. it came together form e because i used to have some pj's with this color blue and random flowers all over the cardstock.  i used this marilyn monroe dress by b line designs because it's so fun and fab!  the fun roses are by memory box.  the rose buds come in two sizes and they are must haves!

 
this next card is also fun and fab with the pink and black tones.  i used the distressed background stamp by impress and stamped it onto some coral stardream cardstock.  i then took the body form and heat set it in black detail embossing powder.  i also embossed the chandelier by impress in pink to make it very girlie!  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you are interested in this class.  remember, if you sign up for all 3 classes glitterama, you get 10-dollar off!

Teacher Appreciation -- May 2nd-6th

did you know it's almost that time of the year when we should thank all of the teachers!  they should be thanked everyday.. but this one week is set aside just for them!  here's what i will be making for miles' teachers.. of course.. there's a lot more too.. but i'll share that later.  here's a fun make and take that we will do on

Sunday, April 17th and Saturday, April 23rd.  11:30am-1:30pm

  i made the original, but it looked like my son made it.. so i had to ask laurie, the other engineer at the store to refine it.  she scored it and made it with our exclusive butter cherry blossom cardstock.  sooooo cute!  we took 8 rolos and one hershey kiss and added some narrow rope.. and of course.. had to add on the #2.  you will make this and have all of the measurements to make lots of your fellow teachers!!!  please join us!  so fun!

please join us for this very very very cute bunny treat!!  perfect for the easter baskets!  laurie made a boy and girl one.. isn't it soooooo cute!!  so easy to make too!  i got these easter mix of skittles and jelly beans from target.  the skittles are so cute because they come in pastel colors.  i almost wanted to buy more for other occasions!  just love them! 

i also think they would be fun to make as placecard settings for your easter sunday brunch!  remember.. this year is the year of the rabbit.. so it's also great for a baby party favor.. shower favor or red egg and ginger celebration.  hope you can join us this saturday and second saturday!

here are the cards we'll be making.. so fun!

 
many of these cards are so simple, you can make loads of stationery sets.. guaranteed to make the recipient love them all!  this card is made with stamps by judikins and memory box.  i just layered the colors several times to make a framing effect and of course, used stickles to make the dragonflys come alive.

 
this next card is made with stamps by savvy and hero arts.  the cherry blossom is a classic background blossom seen on many pictures and kimonos.. also.. i see it a lot on sanrio packaging .. in pink of course.  i love this stamp!  it's so happy.  the grey colored cardstock is new by memory box.. it comes in two different shades of grey.. and you will see in the next few cards.. i used it a lot.. along with this very soft lavender.  love it!

 
again.. i used the grey cardstock using some simple small stamps by kodomo. i stamped them randomly in soft hues.

 
again.. i used the grey cardstock.. i told you .. i like these colors together!  i stamped them in different purple and grey colors and heat set the symbol in whie embossing powder.

 
this next card is super simple. i just used a piece of washi paper and cut it and then embossed the same crane three times!  i then used twine to connect them like a mobile.

 
for the last card. i like this one the most...so i saved it for last.  it's relaly simple.i just stamped it in black and used my pearlescent watercolors and shaded in some of the flower in grey.  i then embossed the spring kanji symbol.  this card is really easy to make a lot of fun stationery.. you can easily change our the kanji symbols for thank you, love, prosperity.. etc....

Cup of Tea cards

Here are the last two cards for our cup of tea class.  i just love the last two cards... very soft and blue!

 
i colored the butterfly originally for placecards that i made for one of my customers.. and then i thought...hmmm.. this would be the added touch for this teacup.  i just stamped it in black and then colored it with colored pencils and then for the touch, i used twinkling h20's on top.. and it really made this butterfly come alive!  it's a mermaid tea!

 
this last tea inpsired card has all of the makings of a tea party from classy hotels like the ritz carlton or fairmont hotel.  this one reminds me of the ritz carlton, 4 seasons hotel tea room in chicago.  i had the opportunity of staying at that hotel when i interviewed for cbs news in chicago.  the station actually put me up in this swanky hotel and the concierge told me to watch out for oprah winfrey .. she takes her two dogs for a walk around the hotel sometimes. this is when she lived in the penthouse suites of the ritz carlton while her home was being built.  i never saw her nor did i see her precious dogs, but i did remember the tea room and the colors.. reminds me a lot of this card!

A splash of tea -- card class

We have another fun class this week!  A splash of tea!  for all of your tea lovers and royal watchers.. this is a class for you!  Please join us

Friday, april 8th 10am-12pm and Sunday, April 10th 11-1pm for our first ever tea inspired cards.  Here are some of the cards we'll be making!

 
this first card i love because it has a royal crown on top!  The fun tea cup and tea cakes are made with stamps by a muse and so is the cardstock!  i love the kraft colors with the madeira papers.  i used black liquid applique to make the black tea and chocolate come alive!

 
this next card is made with stamps by impression obsession.  i used the peony flowers for the border as well as the top of the teacup.   then i blinged it up with prisma glitter and stickles.

 
this next card also uses stamps by impression obsession.. i made this card kitchen colors.  it reminds me of my old house when i grew up in fremont.. our kitchen colors were citrusy.

 
this next card is fun because you can make this card into a gift for someone who adores tea!  i bought this twinings stamp by b line designs.  the england lion coat of arms is also by b line designs.  when you open it up.. here's a warm treat.
