Beach Cards

Please join us for a fun cards by the sea cardmaking class.  These cards will make you feel like you are in hawaii!

Class is on Friday, June 3rd 10am-12pm and Saturday, June 4th 4pm-6pm  $35

 
This first card is very simple to make and super fast.  i took two small shell stamps by impression obsession and stamped them in versamark and heat set it in white embossing powder.  i then took the shell stamp and stamped it in creamy brown for a background and stamped "thinking of you."

 
this next card is also made with impression obsession.  i stamped it and heat set it with gold embossing powder.  i then colored the entire gumball machine in smooch.  it looked awesome.. .. but smooch takes a longer time to dry.. so when i put glossy accents on top.. the colors bled!!!  eek!!  so then i had chelsea make me the next one and we did the bottom of the gumball machine with smooch and copics on top.. it came out lovely!!!  the border punch is by ek success.

 
this next card is also made with stamps by impression obsession.  the border punch is by martha stewart.  i stamped the whale and used prisma glitter all over the whale.. look how beautiful!

 
this next card is made with stamps by a muse.  the shells are cut out and so is the beachy sandy area.

 
this next card is really simple and fast. i took a shell stamp that's a 4-cube by b line designs and stamped it randomly with brilliance inks.  the key to this card.. is using brilliance.  not only does it give a nice pearlescent look.. but when it's stamped on stardream cardstock.. it looks great.. once it's dry!!!

 
and the last card reminds me of hawaii!!  i just love hibiscus.. it reminds me of oahu.  for this card . i used a tone on tone cardstock and embossed the flower in white.. i then took diamond glitter... and put it around the border of the card!  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you are interested in this class.

 

Memorial Day make and take -- Monday, may 30th

We're open this monday, memorial day.. so come by and do a fun make and take.  laurie designed this super cute purse ..

 
the flower on the purse holds the flap and when you open this up.. you will find a gift card inside.  it's great for teacher gifts, girlfriends and a just because gift!  come by on monday.. and you too can make this great design!  we talked about making this purse for the holidays too!  dress it up with holiday colors and even make a bunch of these for an advent calendar and hang them on the tree!!  so many fun things to do with this purse.

Make and Takes! Friday and Saturday

please join us on Friday, May 27th and Saturday, May 28th   11:30am-1:30pm for a fun make and take.  with graduation almost here... here's a great water bottle holder for the graduates.  temperatures may be rising in june, so here's a great thirst quencher for the diploma recipients.  there will also be lots of outdoor celebrations so these water bottle grad designs are great for the party table!  laurie designed these and when you come for the make and take we'll give you all of the measurements to make your own!

more fun waterfall cards

here's the last of our fun waterfall card class this friday at 10am-12pm and saturday 4pm-6pm.. this card is great for an invite as well .. or a before and after card because it acts like a "flip" card.

 
bikes are really in right now, so i thought it would be cute to do a biking card.

Waterfall cards --springtime

This is the time to find out how to make our waterfall cards.  we have 4 different cards to make this Friday, may 27th 10am-12pm and Saturday, May 28th 4pm-6pm cost: $45

these are supre fun to make andthey are thee most talked about card to make in our boutique.

 
the first card is fun with lots of butterflys! when you flip through this card, you will see lots of fluttering butterflys.

this next card uses punches using the mint green scallop circle.  this card has springtime written all over it!

Glitzy Girlie and glamourous card class

We have another fun gliry glitterie class this Friday, May 20th 10am-12pm and Saturday, May 21st 4pm-6pm  cost:  $35

I had a lot of fun making these cards and i took out all of my glitter glues and loose glitters and just went to town!  here are the sparkly cards we'll be making:

 
this first card is a fun perfume bottle card .. stamp is a 4-cubed wood mount by b line designs.  the background damask is a 4-cubed wood mount by judikins.  the sentiment is perfect for this card by a muse.

 
this next card is made with stamps by impression obsession and memory box.  the chandelier's glittered chain is made wth stickles... i just kept poking at the paper ..several times to make it look like tiny beads.  the trick worked!  when it's dry, it looks like a glittered chain!

 
this next card is my favorite.  this stamp is by impression obsession.  i heat set it with gold embossing powder... and then i colored the cake with liquid applique... to make the chocolate stand out.  i then took the sentiment and heat set it with gold embossing powder.  to make the filigree on the cake stand out, i stickled it entirely with "diamond" stickles.  what a really big difference this makes using the embossing powder---on stardream cardstock!

 

this is a fun cupcake stamp by impression obsession.  the background on the cupcake liner has this swirl background and i had the judikins background to go with this, so i stamped it all over.  i think the twine really makes this card!

 
this next card i mimicked from my last card class using all of the birthday sentiments.  this time, i thought it would be fun to use several "girlfriend" sentiments around the bike stamp.  bikes are really in-- we have lot of stamps and gifty items with a bike theme!  so fun!

 
and for the last card, i used fun summer time stamps.. this is drinking lemonade at the beachside -- with seashells, fine white sand and 90-degree weather-- in honolulu!  again, using the fun twine.. i think makes this card!  i love twine!  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you are interested in this class!

Make and Take -- Saturday, May 14th 11:30-1:30pm

We have another fun make and take.. this saturday, May 15th from 11:30am-1:30pm.. take a look at how fun this one will be for a summer party.. end of the year school party!

Laurie designed this cute water bottle holder.  i love how she made the lifesaver and used twine for the rope.  she's soooo clever!  the waves are made with the fiskars wave edger.

we'll post another version of this waterbottle holder made for the "graduate"... and we'll make that one in a few weeks!  stay tuned....

 
this is perfect for the pool party or for a teacher who was your "lifesaver" ... after miles' finishes his swimming lessons, i will make one of these for his swim coach!  inside the pouch are the little sweetener packets that can flavor your water.  they come in all kinds of flavors and brands.. even gatorade!  please come by the store this saturday, may 14th.. between 11:30am-1:30pm you will receive 10% off your entire puchase...if you are a bride looking to get your invitations .. this is the time to get them.. and save!  hope to see you on saturday!

More Birthday cards!

this first card is a fun pennant banner stamp by hero arts and cake stand by impress.  see the little cupcakes and mini cake?  i stamped those separately to make the tiers look full.  sentime is by impression obsession.

 
this next card is one of my favorites.  the awning is so fun to make.  i tried to make this card look like one of my most favorite petite dessert spots in san francisco called "miette".. i love all of their packaging and cakes and everything they have looks so yummy.. you will want to eat their door knob!  hahahahhaha.  i patterened this card off of miette.  whenever i go to s.f., i make time to stop at this store and go to the candy store to get freshly made hand twirled "cotton candy" -- if you ever wanted to tast "real" cotton candy.. this is the place to go!  can't say enough good things about miette!

 
this card is fun too.  it would make a great birthday invitation because it has all of the makings of a fun party.. complete with a beautiful cake, party hats, confetti and whistles.

Blow out the Candles class

These cards will celebrate life and another year of getting older!!  here are two of the 6 cards we'll be making.

 
this card is made with only black and white! it's a fun and simple card that doesn't take long at all!  this card is also made for the stampers who say.. i have soooooo many happy birthday sentiments.  well.. here's what you can do with all of them.  i stamped them randomly here and there and this is what it came out like.  then i stamped my 3 cake stamps on the stop and glittered them in black and white!

 
this next card is a fun easel card.  i used the martha happy birthday edger and blinged it up.  then i took just one streamer stamp and stamped it in different colors.  i cut out different tones of lavender for the cake!  so fun!  hope you can join us this friday and saturday.  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you are interested in the class.  i will post more cards this week!

 

Asian Card Class--Little Tokyo, Friday, May 6th and Saturday, May 7th

the first card is a very elegant geisha card.  i love the earthtones and gold colors.

stamps are by judikins and memory box.

 
this next card is a beautiful peacock bird with asian script.  i colored the peacock with smooch inks.   this way you get a beautiful shimmery look.  whenever i take out my smooch inks.. i think of my friend dr. ellen arden-ogle.  she loves to use smooch.. i need to use it more often because it does make the cards come alive!

 
ellen will also love this card because i colored it entirely with smooch inks.  i didn't want to color the butterfly because of the asian text, so i used glossy accents to make it come alive.

these stamps are by impression obsession and the prickley pear.  this flower trails is so cool..it's actually one stamp.. i love it!

 
i loved this trail so much that i made a similar tone on tone card using a dragonfly and a trail of cherry blossom stamps.  i stamped it in versamark and used "pastel" embossing powder.  see how soft this card looks.  it's beautiful!  i used diamond stickles for the border and some of the flowers.  it really makes the card glow!

 
here's another card i made using more dragonflys.  i stamped the happy birthday in the middle and heat set it with red embossing powder.

 
and here's the last card.  it's very spring like.  i used the blossom branch and stamped it twice.  i then colored it with copics and used glossy accents on the blossoms.  the soft colors really make this card.  please call the store at 916 487 2737 if you are interested in this class!
